New email going around to watch for.

Postby sevenalive » July 12th, 2011, 6:01 pm

I been receiving a few of these recently, I don't know ITT Tech got my personal email address, but I am guessing Sallie Mae provided it to them and in turn provided it to these people. My loans are always paid on time and are never past due, so I'm not at risk for a default. I deleted the first email that claimed I was at risk of default and today I got another one.

So guys, just watch out for this and reply back with the subject REMOVE and hopefully they will remove you and never contact you again.

If you don't like it, MOD IT!

Yeah I got the phone calls from them. They did get my phone number from ITT Tech and they claimed to help you negotiate payments for your Sallie Mae student loans. But funny thing is I used them and they did not do anything I couldn't do myself. Also they have a website and they seem legit but they where not really helpful in doing anything special.

When you talk to them they call Sallie Mae with a 3-way conference call. They listen but don't say anything while you talk to Sallie Mae. They might as well not be there at all.

I've also received the phone calls instead of emails, except mine were from a company called ECMC, not sure why it's a different company, maybe it's a regional thing. Those clowns called me at least twice a day, every day, for two months because ITT told them that I had defaulted on my loans even though I had not defaulted.

I finally got them to stop by talking to a manager at ECMC (after playing phone tag with her for several days) and explaining that what they were doing was considered harassment in my state and that I wouldn't bother continuing asking to be placed on their do not call list, I would file a complaint with my states AG office instead.

She must have looked into it and realized that I wasn't lying about the AG here taking action on these sorts of calls because they did finally stop calling a couple of days after I spoke with her.
