Economics Book Missing Chapters!

Does your book have 10 chapters missing? Did you pay $1300 for a 4 year old dell laptop? Tired of the old desktops and slow network?

Economics Book Missing Chapters!

Postby sevenalive » February 8th, 2008, 2:22 pm

I been going through my collection of ITT Tech books, i don;t need any of them after i am done with the class, so i decided to sell them. So i go to a few websites that buy textbooks and enter in the isbn numbers to see the value of the books. Well i enter them in and only 1 of my 15 books are found! So i enter the isbn numbers in google, which has a isbn search. Google cannot find them.

I wonder if these are even real books that are accredited and used by other schools besides ITT Tech. The only book it found was http://www.amazon.com/C-How-Program-5th/dp/0131857576

Why am i paying at least 100 bucks per book if no other school even uses them?
You know what really pisses me off? Has anyone ever looked at the Economics book? We probably all have the same book, green cover, myeconlab crap.
Well anyway, take a look at chapter 7. What? You can't find chapter 7! What about Chapter 9, or 11?
Ya thats what i thought, Chapter 7-20 is missing!!!! What the fuck happened to 7-20? Did they buy these books like that? Did they get a big discount because they were defective?
And to top it off, i bet i paid full price for the book!

I'm not surprised half the book is missing. That's because the books are "custom made" literally in India by people who can't even speak English, let alone write English.

Oh, and you are charged at least 3 times what ITT pays for the books. That's one way ITT Tech makes money--to triple charge you for books and get Sallie Mae to pay for them. The books ARE worthless and aren't used by any colleges (ITT doesn't qualify as a college).

Your only help is to sell them to other ITT students, but they are already being charged for new books and financial aid will have a fit, so go for it.

Good luck!!!

I thought that it was hilarious that almost the entire book is missing. Just one other way for the man to screw you over.

One thing I should not have done is tossed out my textbooks. I didn't have an economics class though. The electronics books (custom made for ITT of course) were littered with errors. The answers in the back were often wrong. The answer books that the teachers let us use were also often wrong. You would think they'd take some of that money and actually pay someone to edit those books, but they probably know that nobody reads them. Well stated by MSTie1:

*sigh* the "equipment"

...The biggest problem with the books is this though...NOBODY READS THEM!...

I teach at ITT Troy and a lot of the books are custom made so that you cannot buy them online for the $1.50 that they are really worth. This allows them to charge you an obscene price for an extremely outdated and obsolete book. The missing chapters in your green microecon book I heard is for Macroeconomics and is sold as another seperate obsolete book.

The biggest clue that this place is run by a bunch of retards is that they cannot even have enough books on hand when classes start! This happens EVERY term. Here is the formula to order texts: Total number of students enrolled in a class = total number of books needed. This "campus" has only been open for 15 years so I guess they will get it soon.

Hey Laura Majewski, as the Director why don't you stop with the fake smiles and sing-song greetings like everything is OK. Demand some competence in the areas that deliver actual value to the students.
