Burned ITT Tech Students/Grads

Postby harvestchild03 » January 21st, 2009, 1:45 pm

I have attended other institutions in the past and I have never in my life experienced as many problems as I have with ITT Tech. As aforementioned they are defintely over priced! I started off in the Bachelor's program and after 2 quarters downgraded to the Associates Degree program. I even doubled up on classes in order to graduate six months before my anticipated date. I paid over $30, 000 dollars for 1 1/2 quarters and found out that the degree I obtained for 75% of schools an nearly 100% in my hometown (NYC) did not consider the degree to be official!!! This was the most painful information that I obtained. On top of that they will not release my transcipt to an institution (Walden University) who will accept their questionable credits and now they are telling me that they cannot release the transcript due to a hold. I have contacted the school directly in regards to the hold and I continually get the run around. Either I am forwarded to another employee who forwards me somewhere else, or I receive the voicemail box of an employee who also transfers me to someone else! This by far is ludacris!!! I need ANSWERS and cannot get any. In the meantime I am faced with haveing to start all over again. I am so disgusted and fedup with ITT politics. Attending that institution was the biggest, I mean BIGGEST mistake ever! I will write complaints on every website if I have to to get anyone to listen to me when I advise them to SSTAY AWAY FROM ITT TECH!!! IF anyone can offer me assistance as to how to go about addressing these problems please email me (Harvestchild03@hotmail.com). Thanks for listening.

I spent over a year sending letters to government officials, consulting with lawyers and researching what I could do.

I have since given up and have faced the fact that, now at age 45, I will be paying $245 per month for the next 10 years to pay for the 9 months I wasted at ITT. I only net $1675 per month and I have a wife and kid.

My wife works but we live in a small house and I drive a 13 year old car....ITT promised me a bright future but I ended up hating life even more.

Moving on with your life is the best treatment and I guess you're already en route.

The only real students attending ITT Tech are the ones that shouldn't be there.

I was actually wrong about the $30, 000 dollars, I recieved a final bill from ITT Tech a couple months ago and I found out that I was actually charged $41,000 for my two year degree. I can upload proof if no one believes me. Can they really charge that much for a degree that is not recognized by half of employers and institutions in the US? I'm glad that I go out when I did. However, if I can stop someone for making the same mistake it is worth it!

Well at least you got the degree for your $41,000.

I attended ITT for 9 months, got NO degree and I owe over $27,000 (including the interest).

At least you know to stop. There are people that I know that complained about the school and still wanna go back and get their bachelor's after their associates. Talk about a waste of money. They think it is going to help them get a job.
