Hello....I haven't posted since last summer....constant complaining about ITT was stressing me out.
I am a 45 year old man. I signed up for ITT and started in November 2006. I lasted 4 and 1/2 semesters and then dropped out in October 2007 because I was learning next to nothing about Computer Networking and was sick and tired of the whole scam.
I have been to lawyers, wrote to every state official out there...nobody will help me.
I started at the local Community College in January 2008 (had to pay cash because I couldn't get a student loan since I owe ITT a mountain of cash) but I had to stop going because I have to work a fulltime job and a part time job in order to pay my ITT loan, live, and help support my family.
I owe ITT (Sallie Mae) $29,000; I made my first monthly payment of $245 yesterday with only 119 payments to go.
So here I am at the beginning of 2009, working 60+ hours a week and earning less than $30,000 a year and I have student loan + credit cards debts of $40,000+.
In 2005 I was earning $35,000 a year and had no debt, but then I got laid off. ITT promised me a bright future and I fell for it. Sure it is partly my fault for not finishing....but I was learning NOTHING and feared that I would end up $60,000+ in debt....with no job because I didn't know anything about working with computers.
I will be 56 years old when the ITT debt is paid off....just in time to work until 65, collect SS and live like a bum until I die.
