My new school

I have began at Iowa State University. I have been ITT-Tech free for 4 months. I began June 16th to be exact. I am taking summer courses of Math 142 and Econ 101. Both are pretty simple but are still harder then the entire ITT course list. Currently have a B+ in Math and B in Econ. Next Tuesday, I will begin the paperwork to start the pursuit of a double major. I will continue with my current computer science major but will be adding on software engineering. As of 2008, it has been declared by USNews.com and is support by many other sources that Iowa State is the best non-IVY league school for engineering and computer related degrees in the country. Iowa State has received many awards for their academics. They have the only F5 tornado simulator in the world I got to see it in action during orientation. They also have the world's best Virtual Reality Simulator which has been named the C6. Take Two and Rockstar were also nice enough to help with reprogramming GTA4 to work with it. I personally get to work with this machine. I am excited.

I was lucky on transfer credits. In Iowa, there is a law that requires u to be at least tested on ur knowledge if u are an Iowa resident. Colleges in Iowa cannot flat out refuse transfer credits for native Iowans. Luckily, I had buddies up here who let me borrow some books to study. Without those I would have been screwed. Without those books I would have 0 credits. With them I got 24 of 36 transferred. I was also lucky they hadn't sold them yet.

How is everyone else's experience post ITT-Tech?

Well i will be going to Scottsdale community college in the fall, i went there before itt and i loved it. Ill be getting my associates through them and then transfer to ASU. WOW so your saying you can play GTA4 in the VRS! That would be awesome. How does the F5 Tornado Simulator work, is it a big room and shit gets tossed around, or does it create an tornado?

That is good that you got some of your credits transferred, well not really since you just took tests to get credits right? So really the credits are still worthless lol.

The F5 simulator is a small scale simulator. It goes by ratios. The tornado is developed in an open bottom cylinder.

Here is a link for the old one. The old one isn't f5 but the new one is. They both look very similar. It includes a video. It may better explain then I can without a wall of text. It is mainly used to test building standards and for making new standards that are better to withstand worst case scenarios when tornadoes hit. It makes sense for it to be at ISU. It is tornado valley.

I can play GTA4 in the C6 but I am not in a class that uses it yet. Otherwise I gotta rent it for $1,000 per hour during non-class hours. Occasionally they will take random students from campus for tests. They did it once before to help with study of violent video games. They used GTA:VC for that study. And yes it did cause aggression because they picked students that don't play video games. If they would pick me, I would say "That was f***ing awesome!" afterward. When u use the simulator u have to put on a special suit and muscle pack(It is kinda like a backpack) that makes u fall if u character fall. It makes u feel recoil if u fire a gun and staggers u if u get shot. Those are the only 2 games I know of that have been reprogrammed to work with it. I know they are currently working on putting wii games on it because it is the easiest transition.
