sweet. I will be making up grades to my rig this week too.
I have:
Q9300 @ stock
4gb ddr2
8800gt OC'd to the maximum before artifacting
2x 320gb WD in RAID0
A blu-ray drive and DVD-rom burner
will be getting a new mobo cause my current G33 can't OC. Will be getting a P45 and DDR2 1066.
I get 5.9 in vista too. At my resolution of 1400x900 my 8800gt still takes everything on with ease. Might get a Radeon 4850x2 when they come down in price and get better driver support.

GTX 285 blows the ati out of the water in tests. Upgrade to the Core i7 and DDR3 triple channel ram, the performance is crazy. My mobo has an automatic OC engine, but i manually made it run 3.6, 1 ghz higher than stock. the 920 is about $285 and people have gotten 4.0ghz or better, anymore has been with water cooling.

5.9 is the highest on the vista scale. i am going to install the win7 beta and see how that is.

i didn't care for windows 7. To me it seems if ur computer is actually meant for vista it runs the same or better then windows 7. I also felt like windows 7 is striped down compared to vista. I will not be upgrading to i7 anytime soon either. I can't justify the price when my quad handles anything as is and aftermarket coolers aren't up to my standards for i7's either. I am waiting for the i5's though because those are meant for more mainstream. I have yet to see anything to justify DDR3 price either since most benchmarks show little to no improvement vs DDR2 1066. I also can't justify an X58 motherboard yet either. The reason I would get an ATI over nvidia is because my student discount at the campus bookstore when my bookstore only sells ATI brand. I can get a 4850x2 for 159.96 usd.

Here are some pics, got it in a CM Sniper case. It's got 2 Intake fans on the side, front intake, and a Bottom Intake. Rear and Top Exhaust are exhaust. The heatsink is a Xigmatek's Dark Knight, which has white LED's. The Top and Front Fans have Blue LED's. Maybe someday ill switch the 2 side fans for one's with LEDs. I got a Saitek Eclipse III keyboard which lights up into 4 different colors also. I wired it pretty well to maximize airflow. The black PSU cables used to be hidden behind the motherboard, but they are a little thick, making it somewhat of a hassle to get the side door on and off, so i moved them and they seem to be fine. I used to have a 2 fan Push Pull setup on the Heat-sink, but lately my little fan mod came apart when i was blasting air and cleaning it, it was making noise and the case exhaust is about 3 inches from the Heat-sink anyway, so i never put it back in. As you can see it's got a GTX 285 and if i need more GPU ill run SLI with the newest card (that's not insanely high) at the time of sale.

Well damn it! Today i decided to switch the side and bottom intake fan, to make the side fans match (blue) and for noise since the manila fan is a HSF and runs at a lower RPM, would be better for bottom intake and run the blue side fans on the fan controllers since they are nosier. So i did that and slapped it back together. The fucking thing wouldn't turn on. My 1000W kick ass Power supply decided to take a shit on me, but to make sure i tore the system down. Good thing i had a spare 550W PSU. So then i had to rip that out and put in the 550W until i get a RMA replacement. Oh i also have to pay shipping!
