It was today, Monday December 15, 2008 at approx 4:10-4:15. I was riding my bike along the sidewalk coming home from work, i live less than 4 blocks away. It was sprinking, roads were wet, my glasses were clouded by the rain. I was almost to the street where i turn when suddenly while in the middle of a driveway a white car decides to floor it across the street into the parking lot driveway where i am at. Next thing i know i see the car, slam my front brake but the rain along with my crappy front brake couldn't stop me in time. I slowed down quite a bit but not enough. I hit the car on the passenger side and it slammed my body to the car. The guys passenger mirror broke off hanging and what appears to be a dent in his door due to my tire. A passenger from the car waiting in traffic asked if i was alright, i responded with a shockingly yes. The impact tweaked my handle bars and rim pretty good, but to my surprise did not cause any damage. I got the kids phone number just in case, i felt bad for him, he is the one with a possible dent and a broken mirror. I went home and realigned the handlebars. Everything on my bike seems fine, the rim may need trued a bit, but i am not noticing a difference when i test rode it.
I did have a helmet on, and if it wasn't for my quick thinking it could have been worse. This whole incident wouldn't of happened if i wasn't late getting off work due to some jackass who called the wrong number and only wanted the finance department. I was late coming out by 4-5 min. I am laughing at the situation, seems my bike did better than his car. My bike
