no help at all

Postby TLBPJ1684 » June 7th, 2010, 9:52 pm

ITT career services is a joke. I wanted to do a internship during my last term and they told me it was up to me to find one. When I graduated they gave me the name of one place to go to and then dropped me like a hot potato. Never heard from them after that. I tried contacting someone at career services but they always said they dget back to me. Never heard form them again. Three years later I 'm working as a mover for a moving company. Total waste of money and totally unprepared for the field I got a degree in. :x

I hear you. I had the same situation in some ways too. while going to that dump the specailsts were ok. But in the end all there was left was a bi**h! This employee was real snotty and interfierred with my business thier attitude was " It's your problem!" I m surprised that they havn't eliminated this position yet so the company can save money. Sorry you had to put up with thier garbage

You got lucky. You got an honest one. They could have said they were looking into things for you and even showing your resume to people and then pretended like nothing panned out. You would have never known the difference. And then if you continued to bug one of them they could have sent you on one or two phantom job interviews and then pretended like you just so happen to have not gotten the job.

I think career service or job placement has to be a very hard department to work in. With the economy alone, it would be hard to find opportunities for recent grads. Another viable reason for hardship is the fact that these students typically don't have any experience to market to potential employers. As far as internships, I think this arena should be easier, and there should be a relatively long list of these opportunities.
A resume service is sounding like a better alternative than attending ITT...

Do you work for ITT Tech (ESI)?
The only real students attending ITT Tech are the ones that shouldn't be there.
