Got Screwed

Tired of listening to your instructor tell stories about his daily visit to a perfume store? Wonder when your going to get a "hands on" approach?

Got Screwed

Postby Alpha Axl » May 26th, 2008, 1:22 am

I was in the Multimedia program, and I had to take Project Management. I was assigned to a group of three others, and since it was quarter five, I knew them all and was cool about it. Two of the three were actually doing something, while the other, who just happened to be my best friend (went to the school together), did nothing at all.

Every class he just talked about MMORPGs with the instructor, who also played them. The instructor also knew his girlfriend, who also went to the school at the time, and was buddy-buddy with my friend. While we, the three other people, did all the work, he never did anything. We finished the project, and it was great.

At the very end, we had the group grading sheet, and I actually gave my friend a D-, being generous. When I got my report card, I got a B+, which is a good grade, but I was mad because my friend who did nothing but entertain the teacher, got an A. Everyone in the group was pissed, and it was just another reason I just dropped out.

That is wrong on more than 1 level. So the teacher obviously didn't teach, he was talking to your friend. Your friend didn't do any work and he got an A. Chances are he would have gotten an A anyway, itt doesn't fail people.

It amazes me when people say "I graduated ITT Tech with Highest Honors". I laugh at that, there are no honors classes at the school for one, i never heard of highest honors (wtf does that even mean, top 5% or something).

In my math 2 class, I showed up all 11 weeks, tried my best but didn't understand a thing and managed to somehow get a B-.

This guy in my class that I was friends with only showed up 4 times and for the final and ended up with an A.

We had weekly quizzes (and if you made them up later you were supposed to lose major % every week they are late) plus 15% of your overall grade is "class participation", and he never said a word when he did show up. If the teacher followed the rules it would be completely impossible for this guy to get an A, with all the late penelties and lack of participation.

It gets worse. ( If you don't believe me, visit "Career Services" or ask the dean to which schools you can transfer credits... and then ask him/her to put it in writing.)

You got fucked over for tens of thousands of dollars that you will never see again... and you have, thrice a week, to see ( and answer to) the fuckers that fucked you. AND YOU ARE BITCHING ABOUT GENEROUS GRADING PRACTICES!?!?!? This teacher could spend the entire "class" doing any god damned thing he feels like doing and there is not god damned thing that you can do about it... AND YOU ARE BITCHING ABOUT GENEROUS GRADING PRACTICES!?!?!? You paid Ivy League prices for... for... for... Whatever, I'll see those fuckers in hell.

Um,, maybe I was being dramatic. I don't see any hyperbole though. Maybe the "any god damned thing he wanted" part was hyperbole.

my point is that ITT is such a joke, that it doesn't matter what you do in class...just play the game and you will pass.

If you don't pass, you might get frustrated and quit, then ITT stops getting your money.

If ITT teachers fail students, they will get complaints and lose there jobs.

I was just pointing out what a joke the whole thing is.

Grades are just as important as the financial stuff. Obviously if the teaching was better than a real school (like they claim) then there would be less complaint's, degree and school company would be worth something, and people would see the financial value in the education.

But we all know that it isn't and employers don't hire people with ITT degrees, first because they know its worth nothing, they also don't want the people who would actually graduate from those types of schools.

Its a fact that ITT, Devry, Collins, Everest, UoP, and other for-profit schools attract the lazy, weird, socially dysfunctional, and all the other "unwanted/disliked" people. I noticed that my first month being there, there are a bunch of idiots or "know it all but don't know shit" geeks, that blab out random words in the middle of lectures and talk about Word of GayCraft all day long and how there level 70 fairy and kick someone else's fairy's ass.

But then sometimes they actually get a few suckers that aren't the above (aka us). I got A's and B's in school, didn't go to any honor's classes, and turned in my homework on time. I kind of been avoiding why i went to itt in the first place, so read my thread "My Story" its in breaktime.
