My old program chair

This is not a defense of ITT. I absolutely despise the school from my experience. I am rather applauding my old program chair.

He called me the other day and scheduled a meeting to talk. I thought hey what can it hurt. I thought he was gonna try and get me to come back but he didn't. His name is Tom Mays. He is the chair of the Multimedia program there. It is the Omaha, NE ITT tech campus. One of the best in the country if not the best which isn't saying much. This campus actually does has good career placement. Some examples would be in 2004, rockstar hired the entire graduating class from the Digital Entertainment and Game Design program from this school, and in 2006 intel hired the entire graduating class in Computer and Electronics Engineering Technology program. You see I am going to Iowa State University. I got out of ITT after my 4th quarter in March. The meeting was to discuss my decision and things that should be improved he. After discussing all the bad things I experiences I was shocked. He agreed with me. He even said he was going to fire some of the teachers that I mentioned because of other student complaints. He also liked my decision to transfer mainly because he is an alumni of Iowa State and the same program I am going for(Computer Science). He is also a teacher at University of Nebraska in Lincoln and UNO(University of Nebraska-Omaha). He says the only reason he is program chair at ITT is cause he was tired of people getting screwed. He said that he heard a lot of stories from people at where he teaches that went to ITT. He even teaches some of the night classes at ITT. He doesn't use the book issued at ITT but rather books he uses the books he uses at the two universities and photocopies them for his students. Maybe this is a sign of things turning around at ITT or maybe just this campus. I guarantee I won't be going back but I applaud this guy and what he is doing.

I don't think he has the authority to fire anyone. I highly doubt Rockstar or intel hired the class, did he have proof? Did you see how good GTAIV is, come on an ITT Tech education cannot teach that!

I don't think he will be sticking around that campus for much longer. It is cool that he uses real university books, but can he proof it. I know i might be paranoid or w/e, but look back at your meeting, could it be an attempt to get you to come back to the school....company?

no he did not have proof of the hirings but he did for the books. He showed them to me. I am not defending the school. It is just a banner of hope that maybe ITT has one good employee.
