The course has a title. Why not teach something?

Tired of listening to your instructor tell stories about his daily visit to a perfume store? Wonder when your going to get a "hands on" approach?

The course has a title. Why not teach something?

In my second year, half of my teachers told us verbatim what would be on the test. We would be told the question and then we would be told the answer. I didn't understand the questions and I didn't know what the answers meant. It would not surprise me if the teachers also shared my ignorance. The rest of class was spent listening to the teacher talk about his hobbies, where he liked to dine, etc.

I remember one day the teacher opened the textbook and read and read and read. You could tell he wasn't paying attention to what he was reading and that he didn't want to be there.

It seems like the longer you attend and get deeper into their curriculum, the more the teachers don't care. You ought to read my posts on the web scripting class lol.

I had a "teacher" during the "BAS" program that would, every once a awhile, open up a book about India and read it to the class for an hour or more. It had nothing to do with the course, which was weak anyway; he just liked to talk about India.

One night we spent 2 hours watching an old 80's movie about a robot because the subject was remotely related to robotics (part of the curriculum for the quarter). Swear to G_d that's true. :(

Then there was the time we watched a video of nude females dancers in class...
The only real students attending ITT Tech are the ones that shouldn't be there.

Hehe, I never understood that either. I mean it's not like there should be questions about what the class is about. But on more than one occasion you have teachers that just stand up there like a deer in headlights. No clue about what they are to teach. Some of them I think showed up the same day/time we did because they come in without the syllabus, lesson plan, and without having read the book. I'm kinda tempted sometimes to go up there and push the teacher out of the way and teach it myself :P

I took an AutoCAD class in high school for a semester. It was just a basic introduction class to get your feet wet. It actually followed the same curriculum as a college close to where I went to school at. It was the introduction class to the students at that college. I start attending ITT and I have this teacher that is just a joke. She wouldn't teach a thing and would keep us to the very last minute of class. She would just assign things from the book. We would go to the lab and she would be like "just play with it". She would give us drawings and Im glad I had experience from high school because I basically taught the class. They would have a question and would come to me because she could never answer your question. I can't say I learned anything new about the program until about the third quarter because the school finally canned her and got someone legit.
