They said when you signed up that if u don't show up for first three classes they cancel the loans(at least that is what they told me when I enrolled). You will probably still have to pay origination fees on ur loans though.

Hey i used to go there, go down to where you signed up. GET YOUR PAPERWORK BACK, I don't care if you rip it out of there hands or steal it from there desk. Try and get it back and destroy it, If they have any info on you they will call you and send you annoying post cards asking you to come back, infact when i transferred from Henderson to tempe, i still get post cards from henderson even tho i never quit at that time, what a bunch of morons. Did you sign the enrollment agreement, how about any financial aid. Go there and demand them to stop everything, tell them you changed your mind and you don't want to attend. DON'T TAKE NO FOR AN ANSWER. They will try and do whatever it takes to get you to stay. DO NOT SIGN ANYTHING ELSE. If they try and make you sign something, DO NOT DO IT. Read carefully first what they want you to sign if they ask you, then say you will have your "Family Lawyer" look at it first. That will let them know your not going to take their shit and they should just let you go. DO NOT GRAB ANY BOOKS OR GO TO A CLASS. As soon as you sit in a class they will charge you, they even try to say its free, but it isn't trust me.

If you need any help i will be more and willing to help ya. I dealt with the Henderson campus before.

:grinning:

So what i want to know now is....if i dont show up for the first day, will they still charge me for enrolling, or any financial aid money. I dont want to spend a fucking dime if iam not gonna learn anything or sit in a classroom.
The funny thing is, i qualified for about $1,500 worth of financial aid, even though my current situation should have gotten me alot more......i hope i dont have to pay for any of it

1. Get your cancellation in writing
2. Don't show up for classes
3. Re-read everything you signed and follow the cancellation procedures
4. Write back and tell us how it went

The only real students attending ITT Tech are the ones that shouldn't be there.

As long as you don't get any books or sit into a classroom or do anything that they can charge you for then they have no right to charge you for anything.

YOU NEED TO DO THIS BEFORE THE FIRST DAY OF CLASS Fuck which is on June 9th. So Tomorrow morning Have everything ready and get down there, Also write a letter saying you withdrawl and all tha t crap. Read the 090.pdf, look at the sections Cancellation, Withdrawl.

Whatever you do, do not have an exit interview or sign anything. Since you did not attend and classes have not started they have no legal right to any money and they don't qualify to receive government money. Make sure they refund every single penny including the grants.

If you do nothing they will setup private loans and grab government funding. BTW you can get Government funding and grants for any school, so ITT is nothing special. Infact ITT keeps all of the money, usually in a Community college if there is money left over you get a check to spend of w/e you want, like books, or gas.

ITT is the biggest scam in the U.S. it has been in business for many years. Back in 1990 another company ESI bought ITT's schooling division and leased the name under copyright so they get to use "ITT" which is why on the bottom of there website and commercials it has to say "ITT is a registered trademark of ITT Corporation".

Once you enroll they will pull all the stops to make sure you stay, and it is difficult to back out of it, which should be illegal.

Look over your paperwork and enrollment agreement (Big pink piece of paper). Make sure you cancel and deny any loans in your name. Go down to the school in person and make them stop any and all financial paperwork

Well I went to ITT, I went to ITT,
But they didn’t tell me- it was scam,
So Now instead of going to a real university,
I’m sitting on a loan of 40 grand.
No I can’t get a job so I gotta join the mob
just because I went to i t t
if i'd gone to it takes time dot org
I’d wouldn’t be broke and have a high interest loan!

I went back to the main campus to talk to my administrator and the financial aid lady. Trust me, they were saying everything and anything to try and get me to stay..it was pathetic! but shit, i just told them that i changed my mind, and that i want to cancel all loans, and the tiny bit of financial aid money they gave me. My administrator is still calling me and wanting to know if there is anything he can do, or if i would like to talk to the "head of deans" or some shit.....this whole ITT tech thing was a fucking giant disastrous mistake. but i tell ya what, iam sure glad i found this website....damn glad! Seven Alive...i gotta thank you bro, keep the fight alive.

Thanks for reporting back Frank, glad this site helped. You avoided what would have been a huge mistake, the biggest one in your life. I knew they would harass you about it, as soon as they have your info the calls and mailings won't stop. I would demand them to remove all information they got on you, they have no need for it. I would also get in writing and signed by the Financial aid admin saying you owe 0$ to the school and all loans and government money was returned.

This really makes me happy, that's what this site is all about, helping and informing. If you don't mind, if you ever know of someone thinking about attending to itt tech, or see it on the internet, inform them of this site. So they don't make a mistake they will regret either. The site is a bit hard to find, but its getting better ranks in the search engines and it should have better results soon since i did some tweaks.

Glad to hear you got things smoothed out with FA.

It is a pain in the ass trying to figure out hat they are REALLY doing with your money.
I went to ITT Technical Institute, and all I got was this lousy T-Shirt!

So I've been trying to get out of ITT Tech for the past week. I've been emailing the guy from FA telling him I didn't want to attend anymore. I asked him about my financial aid and he said if I don't log into my classes I won't get charged anything. Is that true? Also, I've been trying to contact the rep who did my application but have been unable to reach him. It's been about a week now and I've called every single day asking for him. What should I do?

Oh yeah .. I currently live in Milwaukee but my online campus is in Indianapolis. Is the only way to make sure they cancel everything is to go down there myself?

In that case no, but I wouldn't just not do anything. Call the loan providers and cancel them.

Usually the loan provider would be Sallie Mae right? I'm in doubt because the FA guy said that it was going through Direct Loans.

-- Post edited on May 20th, 2011, 9:15 pm --

This is what I emailed the FA guy:

What company did you take the student loans from? I would like to call and confirm with them that the loan is canceled

This is what he replied back with:

There is nothing to confirm. The loans are not distributed until students log into classes and at that point I would certify them. Since you are cancelling I will not certify them. The loans are through Direct Loans and their number is 800-848-0979. All you did the other night was sign the master promissory note. That is need for us to receive the loans ,but if you don’t attend there will be no loans to certify.
