Well i would go down there in person, if you signed any loan documents i would go down in person and handle it. Sending a letter isn't going to be enough.

Hmmm, Alright then, I think I'll do that. I called Sallie Mean minuets ago to cancel that. And that worked out pretty well. And they just sent me an email confirming my cancellation. Idk if I should trust em? They seemed pretty nice about it though.

While i don't trust Sallie Mae, they sent the email so i guess thats that, however keep the email. Make sure ITT Tech does not open loans in your name, infact LOL i should have posted this long time ago.

GO to http://financialaid.itt-tech.edu and edit everything with fake information. Why? so they can't bill ya and they can't open loans, also so they don't mail a million post cards to you every 3 months asking for you to come back and get some SCAMUcation.

Well I think it's great and I'm very happy for you! Just make sure your enrollment and loans actually do get cancelled, and get everything in writing. 8-)

Hello all! Awesome site! Add one more to your counter my man! Saved from the fiery pits of (sh)ITT Tech thanks in large part to this site. I went on the tour today and was suckered into filling out the admissions paperwork but was able to stop short (thank GOD) of filling out the FAFSA and financial aid stuff. I took your advice and just deleted all the information I had input into financialaid.itt.com. The following is what I emailed to my "Representative" (aka used car salesman :D) and Finacial Aid Admin:

Dear Sharon and Cynthia,

I regret to inform you that I would like to cancel my enrollment in ITT. I respectfully request, in writing, a confirmation of my cancellation. Any questions you have may be directed to my email account or by phone at (503) xxx-xxxx. Thank you for your time.

Devon xxxx
In conclusion, I cannot thank you enough for saving me from this evil, money-laundering, lying, incompetent, deceitful mega-corp. Words cannot begin to describe the relief I am feeling! :) If they do contact me with anything other than a confirmation, I will simply explain that I don't feel confortable spending $42,000+ on a publicy traded company's bullshit (can I say BS?) Assoc. degree when I can get six (yes 6) associate degrees for the same price from my local community college. Just wanted to add my $.02 and say that I have been saved! Thanks again! -Devon R.

Just go in there and tell them you changed your mind about attending and you want in writing that you are withdrawn from the school. Also contact the department of the govt that handles the GI bill and inform them that you are not attending ITT tech and do not disperse money to them. Just stick to your guns no matter what, because they will try to get you to still attend. Also never just take their word for it when they say they will handle your withdrawl and there is nothing to worry about. You need to make 100% sure that you will not be charged by them in anyway shape or form. Also check out this link for the basics of what to do if you haven't already http://ittakestime.org/index.php?i=withdrawal
