Balance due

Hello all,

Brief intro. I was attending the online campus (211). Without getting into the actual lack of education and (mostly) incompetent "facilitators/instructors". I will state my current problem. I tend to be a squeaky wheel when I feel I am being treated unfairly, so once I decided to leave ITT I went on a bit of a campaign...that um got me thrown out. (LOL)

This was only a few days ago. (8/28/10) Now I receive a letter (not on ITT letterhead, mind you) that I owe a balance of $1,253.02. This is the part I don't get and I'm not sure how to handle.
I was billed from 3/15/10 to 12/05/10. Total cost $16,071. My total from loans and grants equals $14,850 the out of pocket would have been $1,363. For the previously mentioned dates, but I was cut off before the last semester or quarter (or whatever they call them). My total balance for what I attended is $11,059 my grants and loans again are $14,850...How is it I owe $1,253.02? I should have $ left over on my loans (which would cover the total cost so far plus the Pell $ that was already disbursed)

Does anyone have any advice on how to contest this obviously screwy math?
My first idea is to ask for something similar to the overly detailed "cost summary" I got when I signed up. (on letterhead of course).
The loan $ is there. there is no reason I should be billed for anything.
I'll post in other sections about my other experiences.
Thanx in advance to any replies. MKD
