Scam of the Dunmore, PA campus!!!!

Tired of dealing with the constant problems with the finance department? This is for you.

Scam of the Dunmore, PA campus!!!!

Postby ComputerTech2006 » July 19th, 2010, 1:47 pm

This school is not state accredited like an university and operates like it should not. To make this clear, here is what is going on.
1. This school is again NOT-STATE-ACCREDITED.
2. This school is a SCAM.
3. After you attend this school (either not complete or completed) and plan on continuing your education, you find out your credits are not transferable (accepted to ) other schools. *Meaning you wasted your time and money.
4. The staff (administration and faculty) don't care about their students or the campus its self.
EXAMPLES: Drugs are found on the campus either from students or faculty themselves. (Passing and distributing/selling)
EX. When you go to report this, the school does nothing about it and it continues.
EX. You see students even faculty show up drunk or high or actually drinking on the campus. (Even though they quote. pass out the papers saying not to do it).
5. The finance department tricks you to sign forms and rips you off a lot of money during the time you are there. (Ex. Excuse - finance repack = money for school to pocket).
6. This school charges $40-$50K for a 2-Yr A.S. degree but a University charges $20-$25K for a A.S. and a B.S. degree from a university charges $40-$50K. (Seems to me that the ITT is ripping you off). (*I would like to know how you will be saving for a more technical-top-notch school).
7. The books are out of date and old, mis-printed and pages are missing. (You the student has to read this to pass a class).
8. The faculty do not know what they are teaching and half of the time they leave the rooms unattended.
9. The loan provider Sallie-Mae does not defer your loan and adds interest to your loan so that you can't get out of the debt that you are in.
Ex. Sallie Mae harasses you thinking that your situation has changed but it hasn't. (DAY-In and Day-Out)
Ex. Sallie Mae calls before 8AM and after 8PM to harass you no stop. (They are breaking some of the state/government laws).
Ex. They spam your inbox (email account) so much that you can even get your email account out of their system. Even the unsubscribe button in the message does not work.
Ex. Sallie Mae is not a good loan provider to take loans from as they will use excuse claiming they did not receive your payment even though you paid them.
10. After you graduate, if you do, and try to find a job, you realize that the degree you have is worth nothing to an employer and you don't get the job.
Ex. Try applying for McDonalds or even better your major. Let me know if you get anywhere, which I doubt you will with your degree.
11. The Career of Services at this school, hands you the same packet of papers that you can easily find at the student lounge. (This packet of papers has forklift and warehouse jobs throughout it) (Where is the major related jobs you promised these students).
12. While working with students, I found that they can sit on their butt and do nothing and still pass the class, even when they are not there for almost 12 weeks.
13. The Administration and Faculty probably know that the school is a scam and won't even say a word.
14. You call the school to mention "...ripping off people or claiming that it's a college but its not and they hang up on you. (Acting like there is static on the line - even though there is nothing wrong with the phone line) LIE!! (Even though you know the truth).
15. After you tried to find a job for a few months and had no luck, you go down to Career Link and they tell you that the school you attended is a SCAM and the degree you hold is worth NOTHING. Then they apologize to you for that you fell for the scam and in hopes of helping you get a job. They also recommend to file a complaint to the BBB or department of education to see if you can get some money back.

I will end this here and this is the summary of this bad-mis-represented school. In hopes that some of you out there don’t fall for this trap. Be warn and do lots of research before attending a college.

P.S. This speaks on the behalf of the students from the campus.(Jobs related and Sallie Mae, ect). A little bit from me about the school (admin and faculty).

I am glad, I attend a university rather than this school for my other degree and have a job in the field. I feel terribly sorry for those that are unfortunate to get out of this Scam. Just hold your head up high, and keep looking, sooner or later, something good will happen.

Lots of topics are covered in your post. :o

Is anyone else from the Dunmore campus pissed-off? Have them chime in.
The only real students attending ITT Tech are the ones that shouldn't be there.
