WTH... Parent Plus Loan

Postby djdragon7k » August 30th, 2010, 10:12 am

When I started at ITT, I told financial aid would do everything they could to find me financial aid, however at the last minute I was dropped to a part time student, which I attended for 7 quarters, That whole time I my absolute only option given to me from financial aid was to have either of my parents apply for a "Parent Plus Loan", a loan with outrageous interest rates and has to be paid back immediately. When both my parents expressed that they did not want to be involve in this outrageous loan, My only next option was a private student loan, Which I tried, both with and without a co signer, I was rejected.

Now here I am out of school, in debt to this "school" if you can really call Itt a school, and getting mixed messages from both ITT and General Revenue Corp.
I had my account rebalanced and they found my account overpaid by $250. And I feel this school is not worth more than my kindergarden education, which was free. The setup doesn't feel like college. I went to Baker College for a year and it was a true college. ITT felt like junior high.

A school cannot and should not run like a corporation. Grade school was not like that nor should college be.

I am sorry if this seems as a rant, but financial aid has stolen $25,000 and almost 2 years of my life and they are still stealing from me. I regret every considering ITT Tech back in my senior year of high school.

It's cold comfort, but you are not alone.
The only real students attending ITT Tech are the ones that shouldn't be there.
