I'd say this counts as news. I chose this particular article because I like the title and because it is a quick read.
The Post-Gazette is a/the newspaper in Pittsburgh, PA, so "downtown" refers to downtown Pittsburgh. (It took me a while to figure that out.) I am not sure why the paragraph about Education Management Corp. is in there at all. I assume it is to give the article some local flavor.
The CEO of one of the country's biggest for-profit college companies told the Senate on Thursday that the industry should be regulated based on student outcomes.
DeVry Inc. CEO Daniel Hamburger said that schools' eligibility for federal funding should be contingent on their ability to graduate students and place them in jobs without sinking them in unmanageable debt.
