Title: Federal Probe Targets ITT Tech
Date: 3-22-04

Here is a link to some facts and opinions about ITT Tech. Just remember, this company has a lot of money (and motive) to hire people to lie on the internet. Guess where they got all of that money. We wanted educations and marketable skills and so we "applied" to ITT Tech and signed some papers and Uncle Sam is now a collections enforcer for ITT Educational Services. (Too bad Uncle Sam isn't a provide-actual-educations-instead-just-pretending-to enforcer.) :|

Last Wednesday, agents searched ITT's Indianapolis, Indiana headquarters and 10 schools, including campuses in California, Nevada, Texas, Florida, Oregon and Louisiana. The grand jury subpoenas that triggered the searches were issued by a U.S. District Court in Houston, and sought data on student placement, retention, attendance and grades, along with recruitment and admissions materials, graduate salaries, and transfers of credits to other schools.

Classes were cancelled for the day at the targeted campuses, and students, faculty and staff were questioned. In a statement, a U.S. attorney in Houston did not give a reason for the raids. No charges have been brought against the company.

this is all well and good information, but this article is 4 years old.

New action needs to be taken against ITT.

I have used up all my resources; I have been to a lawyer, submitted complaints to The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools & The State Board of Career Colleges and Schools.

All have rejected me and said that ITT has done nothing wrong.

Next step anyone?

I am over $20,000 in debt with no way to pay it off.

You have done more than I have. I commend you.

Congress just passed legislation a few days ago that ensures that students will have access to student loans. Look at this paragraph from the article at http://www.insidehighered.com/news/2008/04/10/loans

But despite reports that a few traditional colleges have confronted enough potential disruption to their students’ access to federal loans to prompt them to make the switch from the lender-based guaranteed student loan program to the government’s competing direct loan program, to date most college officials have not joined their for-profit colleagues and lending officials in calling for federal intervention. (Because of the nature of how they award aid, most traditional colleges would be just beginning to confront a lack of availability of loans for their current and prospective students, so the picture will become clearer in the next month to six weeks.)

I know. I know. TL;DR. I think it says that ITT Tech and other we-sell-books-and-have-chairs-at-tables-and-people-show-up-and-sit-in-a-room-with-a-guy-we-pay,-we-must-be schools are having trouble getting private loans for their students so the government will... I don't know myself. But you can bet that come hell or high water, these schools will get their tuitions and you can be damned sure they will not be lending the money themselves.

Unless I am mistaken (and I often am,) upon passing of the legislation, ESI stock jumped like 16% in a single day. (I am sure there are other factors involved. ESI released earnings reports that morning showing that enrollment had increased. (There's one born every minute.(A sucker, AKA you, I, rube, mark, trusting soul, square, patsy, vic, mark, dupe, chump, etc.)) These for-profit education people are really powerful. And who could believably "call shenanigans" when congress is just trying to ensure the education :(  of America's youth. After all it is a "Would-Be Student Loan Crisis."

You asked what else you could do. THAT IS A GOOD QUESTION! THAT IS THE QUESTION! YES! That is the starting point. I have already ruled out self immolation. (It isn't, for lack of a better word, as clean as it first seems. And people in general aren't really empathetic enough for it to be effective.) That's a joke! Laugh motherfucker!

I will find answers for you. We have the truth on our side. Let me be clear about my motives. I am doing this because I have experienced injustice. I do not go into specific instances because I do not want to break my anonymity. Anyways, I harbor a resentment and it gnaws at me. (I am exactly like Batman. :D )

Try writing your congresspeople.
