Well, I guess it's time for me to post my review. I guess a little backstory is necessary.
I moved alot during high school, the HS I went to during my senior year has really pushed me over the edge. I turned into a lazy fuck and did not really care. I was really into basketball, I managed to tore both of my ACL's and gained 100lb's. I missed classes, I just wanted a break. My mom on the other hand, has really wanted me to go to college ASAP. Well, I began looking around. In order for me to get into real institutions I would have to retake my ACT's and SAT's as well as work my ass off on acceptance essay. I was not up for all that, ITT seemed to be very accepting however. I was always good with computers, the recruiter seemed very cool and he seemed as if he cared, I decided to give it a shot. My journey at ITT has begun in September 2006.
I saw alot of old people and losers, I figured that they would get weeded out. The first quarter classes were a joke, I just thought it was due to the fact that most students were out of school for a long time and they wanted to catch them up. Second quarter came, same bs...I gave it time. Third quarter came and that is when I saw the wave of new students and I realized what pile of shit this school was. Most people looked as if though they were stuck in their mom's basement the past 20 years; they were complete idiots.
That is when I finally saw what a trainwreck my life was becoming. I didn't do shit at ITT, yet I got A's across the board. The people I hung out with were actually normal, they also saw the school as a major mistake. I could not drop out, my mom would have kicked me out of the house and I would have been stuck with a loan, no job and no future. I decided to get my life on track. Began working out, learning networking on my own and really focusing on my options.
Needless to say the next quarters were a complete joke as well, I don't really need to go in detail describing how bad it was. We were basically moved from labs to classrooms where teachers could not lecture, they had no idea what they were teaching. Come lab time, nothing worked, half of the students hard drives were broken and ITT refused to replace them.
Around the 5th quarter I landed a job as a Techie for a small company, I quickly became server admin for them. Luckily, they had no idea how bad ITT was, and I actually knew what I was doing at my job. I was going to school and working full time at the same time, it was killing me. It wasn't because school was difficult, it was due to the fact that in order to pass we had to attend class and do complete shit.
Now, ITT in CO has two campuses: a learning site and a main campus. A learning site is about 10 minutes away from my house, main campus is 1.5hrs in traffic in a run down mall, in a city that is a complete shithole. My rep told me, and everybody else, that every single class needed for out AS degree will be available at the learning site, the one that is really close to our house. Come 6th QTR, we got our schedules, all classes were down in the main campus. Needless to say, we were outraged. We spoke with everybody we could, they refused to do anything about it. I was forced to make a decision, stay in school or stay working. It would take me nearly 4 hours to get from work to school, there is no way I could make it. I decided to stay in school.
I know, bad mistake....But, I was almost done and I wanted to get something out of the money I have already sunk in the school. I knew that even though ITT is useless I could always learn most of the stuff on my own, get some certs to make me look better too. Well, since most of us lived so close to the learning site, we decided to carpool....it was awful.
The main campus was 100% worse than our learning site, I would have never went to ITT if I have seen what that pos looked like. I stuck with it, attending classes with even stupider people, learning complete crap. I was even considering staying for bachelors, since bachelors is so much better than associates. I simply could not transfer to another college, nobody would accept the pathetic excuse of a degree offered at ITT.
Well, as classes became worse with each and everyday, I knew that there was no way I could drive to Thornton three days a week for the next two years and dig myself a bigger hole for bachelors degree at ITT. Afterall, they aren't even regionally accredited.
I made a decision to apply to an institution that was regionally accredited for a degree in web design, something I have always loved to do. I then knew that IT was not something I wanted to do for the rest of my life. At that time I also lost about 150lbs and got myself into the best shape of my life; things were looking up.
I researched schools, found the Art Institute of Colorado, figured I might as well check them out. Even though they are expensive, seemed right for me. I have heard nothing but good things of the programs that they offered, I started couple weeks ago. I am still attending ITT, set to graduate on August 22nd.
I got my graduation bullshit papers today, that is what propelled me to finally post here. It's complete crap, I feel as if though I am in middle school....can't take much longer.
I just want to give a piece of advice to anybody that is thinking about attending ITT, do not do it. Curriculum offered at ITT is the same at every school that they own, it completely sucks. It's written by morons for morons, half of it does not even work, This school is a money sucker, they do not even offer the equipment needed; we didn't have DVD drives in either campus up until this quarter. They did get new pcs, which still suck compared to anything out these days.
If you already are at ITT and you are not 8 qtrs in, I suggest you drop out. It may not sound like a good idea now, but you will thank me later. The paper from ITT is not worth anything, it's not an accredited institution even. This school is right for some people. however. Morons are happy here, they feel smart. Normal people, on the other hand, are bouncing off the walls, it's this bad.....
The CNS program is a joke, they do not have any of the equipment needed to get anything working, they expect you to rely on theory, which is impossible...instructors have no idea what they are doing. Books? lol.. even if you wanted to learn on your own, you couldn't. The books are designed for dumbasses, you cover more advanced shit in middle school. I was forced to get my own books in order to learn whatever that is that I wanted, Our MicroEcon. books was missing 25 chapters....
Oh yea, we got a guy in this class that is 500lbs and thinks he is a women. Being this fat, he has huge man boobs that he is trying to show off. He also tries to talk like a women, obviously he fails. He dresses like a women and wears skin tight clothes, it's awful. He is also is as dumb as a brick, yea, that should tell you something...
