I got kicked out of ITT!

I got kicked out of ITT!

Postby sevenalive » May 5th, 2008, 10:27 pm

On Monday, May 05, 2008, DVD and I were attending our calculus class. About 45 minutes into the class, the dean of the school pulled DVD out of class. I suddenly became paranoid and started worrying they found out about the site. Then he came back in 10 minutes later and grabbed dvd's bookbag. Then he called me in and we went into the director's office.

When i sat down, he started screaming at me asking me why i was lying. I started laugh asking what the hell is he talking about. Then he asked me why i was still attending the school. I asked him, do you have 30,000 dollars so i can pay of the loan. He sat there blankly at me. He started yelling at me about the survey's, and i told them they were a joke, that when i stood up and was about to leave. He told me i wasn't going anywhere. Thats when i blew up on him, and starting yelling at him about stan and how he doesn't teach the class. He said i was a lier and shouldn't spread lies, at that point i just left.

They kicked me and dvd out of the school for freedom of speech. They think they can threaten me to shut this site down, well I AM NOT. I am going to contact a few lawyers tomorrow morning and find out our options. We are starting this class action lawsuit, so get your papers, stories, and evidence together! This lawsuit is going to happen, we are going to win, and ITT Tech/ESI will be shutdown!

Members if you currently attend itt tech, please make sure there is no way to identify you on this site. I am currently throwing down the ban hammer and banning all ITT Tech campuses from this site. All inactive user accounts are going to be deleted, and if i find any itt/esi employee on this site, they will be dealt with.

Fear not members, we will prevail!

Also this incident will not go unnoticed, i am tightening up security on the forums.

Wow they put themselves into deep shit by doing this. Freedom of speech is protected under constitutional rights. They already lose. I bet the are going to fire the dean and try to push this under the rug but I think u have enough supporters for this. I can probably write a book on just my one year before I transferred to a real school. I will start writing up reports detailing each class in order.

Calculus? My campus didn't have calculus. Calculus? really? Huh.

I guarantee they have known about the site for a long time. They kicked you out of school because of money. One way or another your being a not-expelled-student was costing them money. My guess is that they were afraid you would actively seek out new students to tell them they had just been conned and that by the time they realized it for themselves they would be willing to throw good money after bad in the hope that employers are oblivious to the actual quality of ITT Tech. Or maybe they just wanted an excuse to forever bar you from the premises without having to expose themselves.

I have a degree from ITT Tech and trust me you really aren't missing much.

Truly, truly, I believe that locking nonmembers out of the forum is a big mistake. Look at it from the point of view of nonmembers. I, personally, am very hesitant to sign up for any website. Especially if I have to give them one of my email addresses. I don't know why and it makes no sense now that I think about it. But nonetheless that is the case. You are putting one more obstacle in the way of the truth. People are hesitant enough to open their mind to an inconvenient truth. If the ITT Tech drones want in they will get in, they have probably already signed up and if they haven't they will soon. All it takes is one of them to get in. Srsly, I lurked for a long time before ever signing up and posting anything. I had to be moved by something I read. Unless people get to reading posts (and maybe finding something they want to reply to,) ittakestime.com will just be some site they visited one time and forgot all about.

You are a hero, but (as I, Veecort, stated in ITT Tech's article's talk page on Wikipedia) I don't think much good will ever come of any legal action against ITT. They are so very very practiced in this sort of thing. They have lawyers drawing up a game plan right now. Hell, they probably drew it up in 1995 for the Eldredge case and have only improved upon it since. Not to mention the fact that they are, now, better at covering their asses by using different language in their advertising than they used to. And by slipping release forms into the tall stack of papers that we sign when we start school. They leave the telling of blatant untruths to the real live salespeople. And they leave the grade inflation to the individual instructors.

More on why sevenAlive is a hero... I signed up for ITT Tech despite the high tuition and lack of admission requirements. My thinking was, "How bad could it be? At least half of what this nice (sales)person has just told me must be close to the truth. If it was a total scam surely somebody would have done something about it years ago. " (Mike Shelby, may he rest in peace, tried to be that somebody and I am sure that many kids have dodged a bullet because of the national headlines made by the investigation that he spearheaded. ((He probably also helped a lot of other people in other, unrelated investigations; I don't really know much about the guy.)) The fact that ITT Tech has been around for years is only proof that it is profitable.

The only thing that we can hope to do is steer a few people away from the monster that is ITT Tech. I hope I am wrong.

Let me say this. Resentment will destroy you. That is what it does. Do not seek to exact vengeance, but to save others from our fate. (I'm not saying don't try to get your money back.)

As far as getting an education and doing something with my life. That dream is probably over. I have no faith in teachers or grades or schools or deans or dept heads or registrars or anybody else that pretends to have integrity and do their job ethically. Oh, yeah, I also have student loans and I presently think that my getting out of debt is a fool's errand.

They found out about this site about a week or so ago. When i started the "Spread the Word" Campaign. I was a bit careless and posted the flyers in the building and on students cars. They had a copy of one of the flyers, called it a complete lie. LOL not 1 damn word is a lie and i told him to show me which line is a lie.

Calculus is called "college math 3".

I agree with you on some levels about locking guests out of the forums. I hate sites that force you to register/logged in , just to view posts. This situation has caused me to changed my mind. The guests will see the forum list and read the announcements section, but will not be able to read the topics in the other sections. Guests can still view the blog and read the articles there. I feel that should be enough information for them to take this site seriously and to want to join in this community. Having these restrictions actually helps keep out ITT drones. I will remove inactive / 0 post accounts within a 3 day period, this way they can't lurk. If they do post, i will weed out the drones and ban them, by their IP and email.
What sucks, there is no ip address directory of any kind, so i can't just grab all itt tech ip's and ban them.

I think they might check on this site to see if it is still operational, but believe me what i said to the director and dean scared them. They were scared, they tried to threaten us to take the site down, called us liers, and told us we have no right to have this website. They know what we can do, they know i don't take shit, and they know i am smarter.

I just want to say how much I admire you guys for creating the best anti-ITT site ever and also for standing-up for yourselves, but I don't think you will get past their lawyers; they don't allow ITT to do anything illegal.

The only real students attending ITT Tech are the ones that shouldn't be there.

Steering prospective students away from ITT is revenge enough. A class action lawsuit is just one of the many fronts that ITT can be engaged on. I don’t believe it will have a lasting or long term impact.
What really frightens ESI execs is the prospect of decreased enrollment numbers. I can remember the first day of my 8th quarter in the CNS program. The Dean was at the door greeting the first quarter students and the man was so giddy with delight I can still remember it. I wish more people could see what it looked like. He had a great big smile on his face, beating his fist around his waistline and shaking his ass all over the front door. I will always remember what that looked like. This is why I like the idea of jamming ITTs enrollment numbers. The effect is immediate, it will have a postivie impact on the community, and a plethera of lawyers cannot protect them from this. I think it would be harder to go back in time and say you failed to provide x…y… and z than to jack their current enrollment numbers.
However, I still believe a lawsuit brought against them is valid. I had multiple classes where the grading curve was slid way down so they didn’t fail half the class. In one class they adjusted the grade by so much I would have had an A+++++ if that were possible, or maybe a 135% grade. This is really a quality school.
