Seriously, what's the story with these?

Love how the surveys are forced? Do you love to get 20 emails within 3 days telling you to complete the "optional" surveys?

Seriously, what's the story with these?

I totally don't get the reason behind these. They constantly say that they try to follow up on what's wrong from the surveys. And they actually make sure you take them, and some teachers will give you a bad grade if you don't take them. Well I definitely use them to write out my concerns but of course, I've been there a year and I don't see any changes. So what's the point?

Its a bunch of bullshit, they are forced, even though they say they are optional. When i went to ASU with my cousin to sit in a class with him, they had them do a teacher evaluation, which was done on paper and wasn't that bad. It was optional too.

I guess ITT is tired of all the "fake" surveys, they define fake as negative towards ITT, so now they know who did the survey. Lets not forget the 50 emails you will get if you don't do the survey in the first 5 hours. I had them say:

"You need to complete your survey's, once they are done these emails will stop". I had 20 emails in the past 3 hours from ITT Tech. I wrote back something like: "Or i could just block you!"
If you don't like it, MOD IT!

those ITT evaluations are worthless.

I voiced all my complaints every quarter and saw no changes.

My math teacher told us that if less that 50% of the students in any given class fill out the evaluation it doesn't count, and the teacher and class gets no evaluation.

It is all bullshit anyway; ITT is going to continue to do what they want to make the most money off of us suckers.

I am new to this site and I have the scoop for you on the surveys. First, a little about me... I graduated from ITT with a BSCJ in 2008 and was an adjunct instructor for another campus a year after I graduated. I was recently let go from my instructor position a couple of weeks ago.

The student surveys are anonymous to an extent. We do see the results and read the comments. However, there are nothing that identifies the student. We, the instructor, do not get a bonus for just 100% participation but instead we get the bonus for 90%+ participation and an overall mean of 4.75+. As a student I thought the surveys were a waste of time and that didn't change when I switched sides. Nothing changes although I bitched about the same things for 15 quarters or so. We are pushed to get 100% participation from our class. I usually had 90-95% of my class give me positive reviews but there was always some students that didn't like me or my instructor style. Due to those few bad apples I was let go by the director.
