My ITT experiance, and the one time luck was on my side.

I made the major mistake of signing up to attend this HOAX. The FA pulled strings as I watched in amazment to sign me up and charge me for 2 years of classes, that i was only asking about in interest. After having me sign a book of papers and them actully doing my online finance setups for me ( very illegal and they stressed they wernt allowed to but were doing it in my interest) and having me do nothing more then type my name at the end of thier "so-called" helpfull ways to "push" my loans through. I was told from the begining that i should choose people who would fail a credit check in a attempt to secure a "second chance loan" that does not even exist with sally mae, and a balloned interest rate. After all was said and done i mentioned i would like a laptop and my FA adviser simply started changing prices of classes and charges to accomadate for a few more thousand to cover a 5 year old referbished laptop. This was my first big red flag. The entry test was a total joke, I didnt even answer the questions, just stared blank at the computer moniter asking me the definition to words im not sure are even of the english language, and I passed! I attended one class that night and after 2 hours of learning how to create/rename/delete folders on the desktop, and trying to suggest alternate methods, I relized the instructor was a clueless idiot. I did a "sit in" the week prior on a friends math class to get a feel of the content, It was just as lame as my workshop class. That night after returning home from my first nights class i started reserching ITT on the internet and found many people had the same problems with this for-profit bussiness... and many more. I started reading the folder of papers I had just signed and relized I had 2 days (48 hours) grace period to retract and drop all classes and be saved from the $40,000 + 19.99 APR by mail. I immediatly wrote and e-mailed all my teachers, reps, cousilers, and Dean of my retract from services. I contacted Sally Mae and canceled the loans which hadent even been recived yet. About 2 weeks later the original FA called me about a problem with my draft records and they couldnt get any goverment assistance in my name. I explained to her that I had decided not to attend and had sent emails to all it concerned, all loans were canceled, I had not attended a single full day, no charges were to be made and I was warning my friends of this scam. Within the hour i recived about 10 phone calls in a row with threats (flat out scraming and cussing) from the financial department about me warning others, demanding their names, where I got my information, and the 40k that I had commited to. I politly told these people that if they could provide any emails to any succsessfully employed students because of ITT, that I would reconsider; None were provided.I still receive bills for $5,000 just for being interested in what they offer and talking to them. I will need to have this removed with a state action lawsuit, and if you have had any dealings with them you will need the help also. Please have any friends commited to ITT or even have a remote interest to visit ittakestime.org or just google ITT scam. If this saves anyone from the liftime of accuring debt ITT produces for minimal teaching and useless degrees, then at least this helped.

Holy shit.

This site saved 4 people (that we know of) from attending itt tech, and a few more getting them to get out.

Ya i love how you fill out a FAFSA on the itt website, isn't that illegal?
or how they do everything without telling you and then just asking to type in my name, Oh ya like that's a real signature. Was it this site that got you to get out of ITT? Just wondering if i should add it to my personal counter lol.
If you don't like it, MOD IT!

I'm sure you will get that money back somehow. In the meantime, while this stuff is still fresh in your mind, you should post to other sites about your experience. And take a quiet moment to thank your lucky stars your bill isn't $40K or more.

Good luck with your education, I'll drink to your good fortune tonight.
The only real students attending ITT Tech are the ones that shouldn't be there.

I stop people who are walking to the ITT (Have the backpack on) and tell them whats up. I plan to make business cards for this site and pass them out like candy at an orphanage. My advice, if you have your loans through Salliemae, open the loan page (It should be the first one after getting in) and print that out. Remove ID numbers and keep that on you at all times. It helps when convincing ITT believers to walk away. I wish someone would've had one for me. Maybe I'd be having party's at a college party and waking up at a bus station in Calafornia with a chick on both arms and no idea how it happened. All I have now is loans that are building my credit that I plan to never use again.
So far I've directly stopped 16 people from attending ITT.
16 x 45,000 = 720,000
God only knows how many they've stopped.
